Today on 610 WIP Sportsradio in Philadelphia, Joe Banner joined Howard Eskin to discuss all things Eagles. Banner said that newly signed WR Steve Smith (formerly of the division rival New York Giants) will come off of the PUP list before the start of the 2011 season, barring any setbacks in his rehab from this point. He also said there isn't much likelihood that CB Asante Samuel will be dealt because, to this point, keeping Asante outweighs anything they have been offered in return. Banner also said this about the prospect of Sameul going to aid New York Giants secondary because of recent injuries: "You won't have to worry about that."
